Suppose i have 8 lines. and i start reading lines from 1 to 4 and again i want to go on first line. what cmnd shud be used for that

Where r these lines exists ?
What do u mean by lines ?
how r u reading the lines ?

Nothing in your question mentions any CA product, but you have posted in the CA section of the forum. Might this be Easytrieve?

Basically, you cannot "go back" and re-read some number of lines in a qsam file. What you can do is store a few lines in working storage and then use them when you reach a "break" record.

Is this another version of your question about how to append lines?
