Quick thought...
Send another mail asking them to ignore the previous mail. |

I have done that - but want to know- how to recall it. Is there any such option available on mainframe?

eMails are like snail mail(pen,paper,envelopes,stamps),
once You have sent it You cannot take it back...
You can simply advice the recipient to disregard the content |

If this is a general statement for any eMails then I disagree. |

From what i've seen, "recall" works within some e-mail systems and sometimes across compatible e-mail systems. Generally, it does not work.
For the most part, i believe the recall might be requested without a syntax problem, but not honored by the target systems.
If you have any examples of this actually working across unlike systems, please post. |

eMail recall works within few mail servers and when the email recall is requested. |
