There is still a problem.
When I view or edit that file again, the problem occurs again.
You see, I have saved the profile setting already. It is shows 'Number On STD' there. When I change it to "Number off", it works and shows the row num again.

Is there any permanent solution to fix that?

First you need to create your PS and then do NUMBER OFF then upload your txt file to it and check whether its working or not?

I change profile setting to "Number off", save and profile lock. Exit that file.

When I view or edit that file again, it changed into "Number on STD" automatically.

Hi Jenny !

==MSG> Data has valid standard numbers !!!

I did a little test. So here's a one-time-solution, let's see:

=PROF> ....TEXTXX (FIXED - 80)....NUMBER ON STD
=PROF> ....CAPS ON....HEX OFF....NULLS ON STD....TABS OFF
=PROF> ....HILITE OFF CURSOR FIND...................................

000100 000100THIS IS A LINE IN A PS WITH FB-80
000200 000200THIS IS A LINE IN A PS WITH FB-80
000300 000300THIS IS A LINE IN A PS WITH FB-80
000400 000400THIS IS A LINE IN A PS WITH FB-80

This PS-File looks quiet similar to your's, i think.
Change to number off and then shift the first six chars, or what you need, to the left to elininate them from the data-area.

=PROF> ....TEXTXX (FIXED - 80)....NUMBER OFF
=PROF> ....CAPS ON....HEX OFF....NULLS ON STD....TABS OFF
=PROF> ....HILITE OFF CURSOR FIND...................................

((6100 000100THIS IS A LINE IN A PS WITH FB-80
000200 000200THIS IS A LINE IN A PS WITH FB-80
000300 000300THIS IS A LINE IN A PS WITH FB-80
((6400 000400THIS IS A LINE IN A PS WITH FB-80

Save/Pf3 and re-edit the file

=PROF> ....TEXTXX (FIXED - 80)....NUMBER OFF
=PROF> ....CAPS ON....HEX OFF....NULLS ON STD....TABS OFF
=PROF> ....HILITE OFF CURSOR FIND...................................

000001 THIS IS A LINE IN A PS WITH FB-80
000002 THIS IS A LINE IN A PS WITH FB-80
000003 THIS IS A LINE IN A PS WITH FB-80
000004 THIS IS A LINE IN A PS WITH FB-80

Hope, this helps to get quickly rid of theese lousy numbers.

Regards, UmeySan

After setting NUM OFF, then clear the numbers and save.

When you leave the numbers, it sees them next time and resets.
