Hello,

Quote:
sysadmin people scheduled it.

Suggest you talk with the same people who scheduled your new jcl for execution or ask them how to use the documentation so you can look things up.

You're welcome icon_smile.gif

Your sysadmins may have recorded/published any info about local customization (site specifics) they have applied.

CA Support has free downloads for all of the documentation for licensed organizations, so i suspect they have a copy of all of the documentation..

Hi,

If You'll provide a little more information in what context this term was used..

I might be of little help.

A very wild guess "schid" is used for Schduler ID still Dick's suggestion is the best option.

in the CA-7 material i read, it was told that...

There can be more than one schid for each job and for each day icon_exclaim.gif

Hi,

Yup that's right.

The purpose behind scheduling ID's is to allow the same jobs to run under different conditions. In my shop, we run daily, weekly and monthly batch streams. For example, we use schid of 1 for daily, 2 for weekly and 3 for monthly. Job x may require jobs c,d and e to complete before it can run on a daily basis. Weekly it requires c,d and e and also f and g before it can run.

Monthly, it requires those 5 jobs and 13 other jobs to complete before it can run. The scheduler (CA7) knows which requirements are needed for each run by the schid.

Each job name must be unique for CA7 to know which jobs to run.

P.S.: Sometimes a better expalnation about the problem helps to fetch better answers.. icon_smile.gif
