Yes you can do impact analysis.
Also it depends on what level of impact analysis you wanted to perform. If you need more in depth impact analysis then there are various 3rd party tools available. |

No, impact analysis cannot be performed via endevor...it is only a configuration management tool. you will need to use search-ce to perform thsi operation. |

In Endevor there is list option, in that give the scan string - it should search the components and will list where all the string is being used. |

Not true. I'd suggest you read the documentation or talk to an endevor admin person who supports your system.
Also, many (most) organizations consider impact analysis to be part of cm. |

I have done quite a bit of text searching in Endevor, and I found the output to be buried in huge amounts of other info reported by Endevor. So I set up a SAS routine to filter the lines reporting the actual matches (these include the element where found and the line#).
Search for several strings must be done separately, so I run the concatenation of the reports into the filter program, sort by element and line#, and produce a consolidated report.
If Endevor will do this in a simpler way, I'd like to know. |
