Hi Frds,

I have struck up with an issue.
I have an input file.In that file i have field of X(12).It may contain junk characters starting from any place. It means if contains 5 chars data then the remaining(From 6th position) may be junk r low values.if it contains data of 9 chars the from 10th position there may be junk. Now i need to change that to spaces.

Can any one help me on this.

Hi,

When do You call something as "'junk", this needs to be undetstood. Define Your rules for junk data or best please share some sample records from input & show the expected output. We might come up with desired solution.
