Hi ,
Please suggest me how to remove junk chacters from file using sort.
Junk chacters means what u find using command F p'.'

Anand,
If you want to replace each "junk" character with another character (e.g. a space), you can use the technique discussed in the "Change all zeros in your records to spaces" Smart DFSORT Trick at:
www.ibm.com/servers/storage/support/software/sort/mvs/tricks/
You'll need to specify each "junk" character in the ALTSEQ statement.
If you need more specific help, you need to give more details of what you're trying to do. An example of the input records and expected output records would help. Also, give the RECFM and LRECL of the input file. |
