I have submitted the job with the CLASS = A which is usually used for testing.
The job is in the queue for a long time.
In this scenario, Is there any comand to change the CLASS paramter of a job which is on Queue rather than waiting for its turn or cancelling and re-submitting with the new job. |

Hello,
While the class of a job awaiting execution can be changed, the programmers should not have the ability to do so.
Job classes are defined to provide good overall throughput for a system with some resources "dedicated" to testing and others to production and/or other special situations.
If your current testing needs additionial priority over normal testing, i'd suggest you work with your manager or scheduling people and get permission to run in some other class for now.
If every programmer changes execution classes willy-nilly (either befoe or after submission), system performance suffers. |

Hi,
Yup agree, it's not advisable. At my shop, even in test region if I do this, I got a security viaolation message. And if three time in a row, a nasty mail comes in... |

My shop has 5 different testing classes for us to run in. If we are waiting and the other classes have free initiators a quick call to operations and they switch classes for me. |

Hi,
Please be caution before you change. You should know which class if for which region before you change. Bcz a week b4 in our shop we faced a serious issue by changing test class to production class. A guy who is a fresher in our team did that and faced a big issue which is now cool... so be caution to do that ... Even changing the priority is restricted in many shops... So check with your seniors and admins of your shop b4 you do. |
