what do you mean a normal value?
this topic has been discussed, endlessly, for the last week or so.
suggest you go thru previous threads and see if something there does not answer your question. |

As has already been asked - what is a normal value?
If you post some examples of the data (type, length, content) you have and what size comp-3 field you want to move it to, someone should be able to point you in the right direction in the COBOL documentation that is linked to via the "Manuals" link at the top of the page.
If your question is not something straightforward (i.e. readily found in the manuals), someone should be able to offer suggestions. |
