I want to break the records

CAS093000100 03$001043
CAS093000200 03$999000
CAS093000300 03$001043
CAS093000400 03$360999

in the following format

CAS093197101 03$001
CAS093197102 03$043

when 999 is found in the data after $ I want the field from 7 byte to 10 byte to increment by one ie 1972. This 1972 should be applicable from next record output, the data after $ part should come in outrec with three byte in each output record.

Ie the output of next record should be

CAS093197201 03$001
CAS093197202 03$043
CAS093197202 03$360

himant,

Either your explanation is not enough or your requirement is confusing.

Put more examples with lots and lots of explanation (like from where did you get 1971 and 1972? etc....)
