What will be the Disp Position for update a Vsam file

Could any one please let me know what will be the disp position for Update a record for a vsam file in Jcl.

Logically, it would be DISP=SHR, unless you have some real good reason why you would want exclusive use of such a dataset.

Kevin is right, but there are some important things to be considered ... the VSAM file is uniquely created and there is no other with the same name created in a different catalog ... also if you have this file created also in CICS , make sure it is closed under CICS (for share option = (2,3).
