Hi,
We are trying to debug an IMS DC - DB2 program without a Debugging tool ( Cause we don't have one ).
So considering that our transaction is abending every now and then and sometimes the program is looping which we are unable to spot why .
The program is conversational and is interacting with other such programs and is also using SPA. So once the tran is triggered and it starts looping we are unable to stop it through online commands and through the same node.
So we thought of doing it through a JCL, with stop command in a control card but were unable to find the correct syntax for it.
All we could gather is the command:
/STO TRAN <TRANNAME> NODE <NODENAME>
in case of online, but even this is not working.
If anybody could even direct us towards some solution the help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Phoenix. |

Why not stopping the region in SDSF or via any (not locked) terminal using /STO REG xxx?
Anyway one should first test a transaction using i.e BTS before putting it live
As for the operator commands via TSO or REXX follow the first link in my signature or in the sticky where to find info about IMS and search for SPOC. Good luck |

With IMS V10, you can now also issue IMS operator commands from a simple batch job. Search for Batch SPOC in the literature. |
