In the KSDS file records are as per their key sequence.
But Header format is different than normal records.
So How to read Header of online VSAM file? |

In what way is the header record different, and byh eader I assume that you mean a record with low values defined as the key.
You have the program spec, so surely you can read the header record. |

Could you please explain How we can read header using the low values ?
What the values we can give in RIDFLD to read first Header record? |

I know absolutely nothing about what your program is doing, nor any idea regarding the key structure of your VSAM file, or the structure of the header record.
What is the key value of the header record, my previous response was merely a guess as most places use low values as a header key. |

it might be different, but the offset/start_position and length of the key
will certainly be the same...
from a ksds point of view there is no HEADER/TRAILER ...
every record is just a record identified by a key
if You know the key there should be no problem reading it with a standard read operation
HEADER/TRAILER concept is used in sequential dataset environment where :
the header will be the first record with or without a token identifying it
the trailer will be the last record with ... same as above |
