Hello! can anybody please tell me if there is a utility to delete the contents of a flat file without actually deleting the dataset?

U can also achieve this using dfsort
sort card:
Code: |
OPTION COPY
OMIT COND=ALL
|
Provide the same file as SORTIN & SORTOUT from which u want to delete the contents |

Or open output/close the file in a COBOL pgm.
Not the most efficient way, unless you need the pgm for other reasons too. |
