I'm creating a report using Syncsort (Release 1.2). My input is a
variable (LRECL 300-1982) VSAM file. I need to validate a PD field
that lies beyond 300. I'm unable to use IFTHEN.

Is there any way i could check if the field is:

valid numeric value -> write to the report
invaild value -> write zeroes to the report

My restriction is i must do this in SORT or any other utility, but not using a COBOL pgm.
