Can we use VSAM files in DFSORT? If yes, can you show with simple examples how we can use VSAM files in DFSORT?

Yes, you can use VSAM input and output files with DFSORT in the same way you can use other files. For example:

Code:

//S1    EXEC  PGM=ICEMAN
//SYSOUT    DD  SYSOUT=*
//SORTIN DD DSN=...  VSAM input file
//SORTOUT DD DSN=...  VSAM output file
//SYSIN    DD    *
  OPTION TYPE=V
  SORT FIELDS=(5,8,BI,A)
