Hello,
I want to connect an IBM AFP Printer in India and want to access the printer from a Mainframe set-up in USA. The firewall port 9100 is already opened. An IP has been assigned to the printer, and accordingly set-up in Mainframe. But I cannot print in that printer.
However, the mainframe can be connected from any emulator from India. The error message it is giving is (SOCKET CONNECT FAILED), TCP/IP ERRNO = 60.
Please advise. |

Hello,
Try to "ping" the printer ip address. You might also issue a "tracert" to the printer ip address.
Has anything worked for this printer? |

Hi,
1. Do u have a dest port setup in mainframe and also check what class the dest port is linked to.
2. go to =8.pr in ISPF and check whether u r able to see the printer.
Regards,
Karthik. |

This will work on very few systems - it is site specific.
Deybumba,
Has anything (mainframe or otherwise) successfully printed to the problem printer? |

Not to worry
There are many very handy "things" that are site-specific. |
