I have a requirement. I need to select all the records from the input file which have a perticular string in it. That perticular string can be at any place in the record.
Here i have selected all the record having NY any where in the input.

You can use a DFSORT job like this. I assumed your input file has RECFM=FB and LRECL=80, but the job can be changed appropriately for other attributes.
//S1 EXEC PGM=ICEMAN
//SYSOUT DD SYSOUT=*
//SORTIN DD DSN=... input file (FB/80)
//SORTOUT DD DSN=... output file (FB/80)
//SYSIN DD *
