If we do not mentioned block contains clause in COBOL, this would mean the file is considered unblocked. If I mention blocksize > 0 in JCL, would the OS consider this file as blocked or unblocked? |

I need to check this but I belive this would be at the system level and we would be unable to see if the file was considered blocked or unblocked? |

Go into ISPF 3.4, put an "I" line command in front of the dataset name, if the lrecl equals the blocksize it is unblocked. Anyone should be able to do this. |
