Can you tell me how an interface has been established btw COBOL, DB2, VSAM, & CICS.

Your question is not clear. Keep in mind that your question is completely clear to you, but possibly not to everyone else.

There is no general or common "interface". There are coding rules and precompilers for various combinations. COBOL/VSAM needs nothing special. COBOL/(DB2 and/or CICS) needs precompilers.

If you want to learn how to use these on your system, your best approach is to talk with the system support people or the dba(s) and they can tell you how each is handled on your system.
