My requirement is to change the weekly job to monthly job i.e
my previous job returning the weekly report now I want to change that job in such a way that I generate the monthly report. That one query I need to change. That one I have done, but it also has one GDG in it. I don't know whether I have to change that GDG or no need to change that. |

can u please try to put ur queries listed properly??
Is it that
- U r changing one weekly job to a monthly job
- U had to make some changes in the SQL query and U made it already
- U are using some GDG as output file
and finally
- U wanna know whether u have to change the GDG since u r creating a monthly report instead of a weekly one
If this is ur question, U have to decide on whether u need to change it or not..Basically if it is an output file, u can simply use the same GDG base to create new generations under it..
I dont think u wil have any problem in that....
And if ur question is something else, please post that clearly... |

Wrong forum, dude. This belongs in the JCL forum. Try reading before posting. |

Well, it does mention a query. . . .
As raak has mentioned, the question(s) from TS need(s) clarification.
If TS provides more info, we may be able to help with a suggestion or move this topic to a better place.
We'll see . . .

Aye, you're right, Dick. It was the GDG reference that made me think that it was strictly a JCL issue.
My apologies! |

Depending on your sites dataset naming conventions (there are naming conventions aren't there) you may have to change your output file name. |

Surely not needed
The initial post is somewhat unclear and it may actually belong "over in JCL".
Once again, one of my feeble attempts at humor went awry. . .

If the reqirement is to write the "report" to a new generation of a gdg, you could use
Code: |
//MYREPORT DD DSN=the.gdg(+1),DISP=(,CATLG,DELETE),etc |
