Ispf is an application running under TSO control..

You can have TSO without ISPF, but not the other way around :-)

Hi

Time Sharing Object /Extended or TSO/E is the shell that you can interact with the MVS core and it's applications... like CSH or BASH shell in linux or CMD command line in windows.
you can execute the some of application under these shells, one of them is ispf facility that allow you to use the capability with Menu and graphical mode ( it's the user friendly interface ) you can do some of this graphical objects activity under command base environment (TSO/E shell)
also you get the TSO/E shell via IP-Based network under telnet with your Configured port with some applications, like EXTRA, or ... the same as PUTTY (for communication between windows platform and linux based Machine )

Regards
