hi ,

if the file having the following records

Account no value

123456 987654
123456
009998
789123 123455

now i need fetch a value from the file using account number...

how to get it..??

Please give us more details about the reqt and how the output should look like? Do u want this to be done using COBOL or SORT?

Also search in the respective forums for similar topics.

Your topic subject mentions "duplicate records", but i see no mention of this in your post.

Keep in mind that while your requirement is completely clear to you, it may not be to those who read your post.
