Hi All,

I have two DB2 database having same number of tables around (100 tables).
You can assume it as a Production DB2 region and TEST DB2 region.

I would like to copy whole database/Subset from Production DB2 region to Test DB2 region. Is there any utility or way you know, which i can use to do so?

One way of doing this is to Unload each table from Production region in flat file and then load that file to Test region , but it is looking very cumbersome task since, data volume is very high and there are more than 100 tables.

So, if any one can advise me any utility then that will be very great help for me.

Waiting for your expert comments.

Many Thanks,
Vinit

The way I copy DB2 data from PROD to TEST is to unload in prod and load in test but that option has already been ruled out, that is why I didn't reply.

Hi,

You Can do it through FILEAID FOR DB2 tool.
I did it using one tool, i am not able to brush up it' s name, will surely reply you that tool name also.

But there is one option called as MIGRATION or RC-MIGRATION...
Just look for same option in fileaid for db2 , for sure that option will be
migration only...an option numbered as point 6 probably .

Please let me know...

Hi Vinit,

If you know about PST(princeton Softech Relational) tool in DB2 or if you are using any other similar relational tool, this task will be simple to copy the whole data from prod region to test region(unless all tables are not related to each other).

Yes,
We can do it through PST,i was not getting this name only.
There is an option in PST.....probably option no.6 as RC-Migratin or Migration...then following the steps you will come to an option as...EXTRACT and then INSERT ...you can follow the steps.....

Thanks to remind me the name vineet...
