Resubmit will bring the new copy of your JCL before the job executes.Where as restart would uses old version of your JCL. |

resubmit means submit the job what you have submitted previously.
job execution will start from first step
restart means restart the job from particular step (from which step you want ) |

Do we have to mention the RESUBMIT parameter anywhere in the JCL? What is the syntax? |

Ok thanks. So its more like using "SJ" in the spool and then SUB to resubmit the job again. |

Not exactly, becauese you can add a restart param to the job card and then SJ it.
I haven't tested this, but I have changed JCL and SJed it with no problem. |

meenal,
Once the job execution is completed, when you re-run the job (eiither using 'sj' or from 3.4) it will be treated as 'new copy' and NOT the completed one. |
