DO NOT use password protection, it can cause loads of problems. It may well stop volume defrags and space maintenence.
Usually as a storage guy, if I encounter a password protected dataset, it gets zapped to no password and deleted without backup. Then the owner wants it restored and I tell them - it was password protected, no backups were taken.
Do yourself a favour - use the security software instead. |
