Hi all,
I have to issue the below mentioned command in a JCL. But the space in Primary Command line is not enough to type. How can I solve this problem?

C 'GHTY.TESTING.MEMBERS.LIB' 'FTGN.TESTING.MEMBER.MAINLIB' ALL

Thanks,
Gnanas

gnanas,

You can do this in 2 steps.

1)

Code:
f 'DSN=AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA,DISP=SHR'

2)

Code:
c * 'bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb'

* will hold the result of the previous command.

in view or edit session any time I want to find or change a string that would exceed my command line entry i edit the the following rexx in a swap mode, save it , swap back to my view/edit session and execute the edit macro; i.e. CHGTHIS.

Code:

/*  REXX  */
/*    edit macro CHGTHIS                                                  */
/*             YOU CAN HAVE AS MANY                                  */
/*              ISREDIT 'CHG ASTEX70 "SEARCH STRING"                 */
/*                              "CHANGE STRING"'                     */
/*             AS YOU WANT                                           */
/*             THEY CAN BE TWO LINES OR JUST ONE IF THE              */
/*              SEARCH STRING AND CHANGE STRING ARE SMALL ENOUGH.    */
/*              JUST REMEMBER TO HAVE A SINGLE QUOTE FOLLOW THE LAST */
/*              DOUBLE QUOTE IN THE CHANGE STRING                    */
/*                                                                   */
ISREDIT MACRO
ISREDIT 'CHG ALL "TA-READ-AZT-QM-CTRL"
                   "TA-READ-AZT-QM-MEASUREMENT"'
EXIT

Dick,

I tried with that code and is working fine. Thanks for the macro.

gnanas,

Just an additonal point. Save the rexx macro in a PDS which is allocated to SYSEXEC/SYSPROC to use the macro.

Change the following in dick's code to find a long string.

Code:
ISREDIT MACRO
ISREDIT 'FIND ALL "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"'
EXIT
