Are IBM COBOL and COBOL 370 both same ?

Can anyone let me know are both IBM COBOL and COBOL 370 same ?

Since it's inception, there have been different versions of Cobol. Grace Hopper was the original designer. Most of the updates made have given Cobol more power. Some things have been removed for current versions. There are also versions that run on mid range computers. There was a version that ran on the Data General which was interactive - the screens were defined and processed within the program. This would not run on a mainframe.

You really need to know which compiler your installation is using. Then you can determine your coding standards.
