To find one string inside another

Hi,

Is there a function which will give you the starting position of one string inside another in COBOL. I have done this in SQL but wanted to know if there is one in COBOL. Right now I am looping for the entire string length to find out the presence. Please let me know if there is a direct string function in COBOL.
