Hi,
I believe RECON dataset will hold the log information in IMS and DBRC is an utlity that runs in IMS environment used to take backup of IMS database.
Can any one tell me the relationship between RECON dataset and DBRC.
what is DBRC?
If u have any weblink having details for the same, plz send it.
regards,
Nagu. |

Nagu,
This might give an idea -
DataBase Recovery Control

relationship between RECON dataset and DBRC. |
In Recovery Control, DBRC provides all the Log Control functions and records information about image copies (IC), change accumulations (CA), recoveries, and reorganizations. To use Recovery Control, register your databases with DBRC. |

Thanks murali.
how to register the database in DBRC?Is its a one time process?
when will the registraion of the database in DBRC will be done?
will the registration is done each time when we ran a BMP job?
Could you please give me an idea about RECON dataset?
what is a subsystem id in IMS? Is its same as IMSID?
Thanks,

Once again I point at the sticky with a usefull link. This time I just typed DBRC and yes.........information came up. And what a surprise after searching for recon.
My advice to members reacting on a topic: if the information can easily be found in the documents (via the links in the stickies) show a TS the way to do so........ What is the use of just copying a few lines and post them when there is so much more to learn about a subject
Comprehensing is much more valuable than reading oneliners without detailed explanation......
It's also about education |

Look at the index of topics within any part of the forum and look to the left hand side. |

Anything you touch after eating an icecream cone and before you wash your hands.
If you click on the forum name, you'll see a list of posts. The ones at the top are "sticky", meaning they'll always be visible on that first page of the forum. |
