Does DFSORT support UNICODE data (UTF 16 , UTF 8 ETC.)? Could you suggest what changes we have to make to implement it? |

Hi Frank,
Thks for ur valuable link. I went through the link, but i cd not get much how practically we can implement 'Locale'. What parameter we need to put , & where (like some thing in JCL, or at system level). As in my current project we will be getting the data now onwards in unicode rather than EBCIDIC. And we have to clone our current process to handle this unicode data. Could u plz give me some docs or details that could help me to understabd this approch in a better way. As DFSORT is most commonly used utility for data processing, I want to gain some knowledge. |

I'm not an expert on Locales or UNICODE, so I can't help much.
I believe IBM supplies the Locales as part of Language Environment.
See the description of the ICEMAC LOCALE option in Chapter 5 of "z/OS DFSORT Installation and Customization" for more information about using Locales. Click on the link below and then do a find on "LOCALE":
