FTP return code during system down time.

hi,

I have a situation to capture the return code of FTP step and check whether the FTP step ran fine. If it is not, then I have to force the job to fail.

Can someone give me some material regarding FTP utility? I want to know the possible return codes from the FTP JCL. Particularly I am interested in finding out the return code when the destination server is down.
