Hi All,
First of all, Please dont mistake me if my question is meaningless.
Is it possible to simulate the mainframe environment(qws3270) in a local PC without the mainframe connection?
I want to learn things in my home. Is that possible???
Please let me know, if you dont understand my question.
And Correct me, if I'm wrong. |

You can run z/OS on Intel-based systems. I saw it running on an IBM Thinkpad once. Don't know how much that would cost, though. |

I use MicroFocus COBOL on the PC. It emulates COBOL, IMS DB & DC, DB2, CICS, JCL, Sort Utilities, IBM Utilities ... I understand it also emulates PL/1 and Assembler, but I have not tried these. I do not believe that emulates ISPF entirely. I also do not know the cost of this. |
