Ans is "b".

Hello,

I suppose records might be deleted without being read first, but it is not a practice i'd use. Usually, when deletes are done, some information (audit trail) is written about the records being deleted.

Where was your material written and how was output only explained?

As the FM point out: When the DELETE statement is executed, the associated file must be open in I-O mode.
