Hi all,
I got a strange requirement. I have to copy contents of the PDS members in different files on my PC. So is there any way I can copy contents of all the members of a PDS (in different files) in one go.
Thanks in advance... |

depends on the emulator that you are using. I have always used the up/download facility built into the emulator, selected all (or a portion) of a pds, privided a file extension (global), designated the destination folder and let it rip. Suggest you go thru the help section of your emulator.
by the way, this is not unusual. Most places i work have a pc based modeler/data dictionary - (rochade/key/or homegrown) and all copybooks originate on the pc and are uploaded to the mainframe for development. Then all the sources are downloaded to the pc for documentation. |

Why not using plain FTP? The MGET command is exactly what you need...

Hi,
Actually mainframe doesn't support you to transfer between local system to m/f or from m/f to local ... so the plain ftp will do per ofer says,
Quote: |
verbose
open servername Eg:DYibm
username
password
quote site trail
get 'MSD.MKT.C3423.IM234DTN.QUEUE(afd1)' Q_01.txt |
Repeat the get command for diff file names which you have ....
try this and let us know if it wont help |
