Hi,

We havent specified any constraint on a field 'SER_DATE' of the DB2 table. (which is type of DATE ).But its not allowing to insert data greater than a range(say 2010-01-31).The field is an indexed one. how to identify the constraint specified on indexed field?

regards,
Nagu

it is not a constraint. It is a partition boundry violation. If you think you are trying to INSERT into the correct partition, you need to look at the Partition definition parms.

Thank you.I have some doubts...

1)how the partioned will be chosen to insert the data?
2)will it based on date? how to identify the boundary specified in the partioned(range)?

regards,
Nagu

Start with the DDL that created the tables.

Here is the doc for SYSIBM.SYSINDEXPART
Which contains the Limitkey for the partition.

Here is sample SQL to access the rows containing info for your table.
