Hi Friends,

My query is , is there any way to check the given dataset is gdg base in jcl.I have a job which use one input file which i receive from my upstream.Yesterday they have given gdg base as input , my one of job step which actually check whether dataset exist or not before the main step. In the gdg base case it returned the maxcc 0 even though gdg not have the single generation and allowed the the job to run. It got failed.

If i am able check situation like gdg base only exist not having any generations , i can avoid this kinds of abends .

Please help me out..

Thnak you,
Venkata Brahmam.

Why are you checking against the base? Why not check against the +0 version?
