Hi,
I have a requirement where my online program should read a flat file. I know its not possible to access flat files thru online. So, I was thinking to make it a batch program.
But again this process should be initiaed by online Trans Id. Is there any way that I kick-off batch job thru online Transaction?

Look into spool and intrdr...
And who said you can't read a flat file in CICS? |

Accessing online file in online mode is similar to that of VSAM file (KSDS)?

You are right there, no, not like a VSAM file......
