Hi all,

I am getting -904 sql code when i try to update a table using a PLI program.
I know that its is
"UNSUCCESSFUL EXECUTION CAUSED BY AN UNAVAILABLE RESOURCE."

Could any one please tell me what should be done for successful execution.

Help me!!!!

Hello,

For someone here to help, you need to post the information you have (or can be made) available - with what you've posted, there is very little to work with.

You at least need to post the reason-code, resource-type, and the resource-name. If any other info is available, post that as well.

There is also Problem Determination help available in the manuals

Hi,
I think the database which you are trying to update is not in R/W mode.
check with DBA.

The message says that the resource is unavailble.

What resource ? Why is it unavailable ?

During execution of some other program may using the resource.Just rerun the program from top.

Just rerunning the job is not really an option until the OP has determined the cause of the error. There are so many different reasons that could cause the error, so maybe finding out why the error occured would be the first step rather than resub and hope.

rerunning the program wont be sufficient in this case. you need to run a repair utility i think

Just run the DB2 commands to find out which program or job is holding this table?
