Hello,
I have a situation where we want do not want the Online processing and batch processing to run simultanously. Online processing is done thru a different OPC and the batch processing OPC is different.
Requirement: When Online OPC is running and if batch OPC is submitted, it should wait till online OPC is completed.
I am not sure but there is something like EXCLUSIVE parameter in Job card information.
Does anybody has any idea?
Any other views are welcome. |

This wasn't a question. I'm saying that when you submit two jobs with the same JOBNAME, the second will wait till the first is ended.

Hi,
I think Online Process is driven by Trasactions.and batch job is driven by jcl. Both jobs are running in multisharing environment in mainframe.
The thing is if you have to control your batches the easiest way to workwith inititors.
When the workload is havy in daytime because lot of online transactions are running.so the operator limits the no of inititors.
Batch job is mainly entering in nighttime only,,,,
Corrections welcome!!!!!!!!!!!
Cheers,

Hello,
I'd suggest you talk with your scheduling people. It is quite common for certain batch processes to run when the online is "down" and not run when the online is "up".
Your batch jobs could be defined as such to the scheduling software. |
