Anyone who used to write scripts in REXX who is now writing scripts in PERL? I'm trying to get some ideas for some self-training that I can do that might actually be of use sometime. Anyone using or planning to use SYSREXX? |

I've used REXX and Perl quite a bit. I like Perl better. If you know REXX well, learning Perl is easy. I suggest the excellent Perl books from O'Reilly publishing.
I would install Perl on my PC and learn it that way if I were you. Start slow and with small Perl scripts/programs. Perl is more powerful than REXX; you can do more with less code.
SYSREXX sounds good, by it's mainly for APF authorized users, to extract console information and issue console commands via REXX. Automation of processes... |
