Data conversion float(16) ---> dec(31.8)

Can anyone have any idea how to convert float(16) to dec(31,8) without loss of precision?

I.e say in float you have 1.875
I need to put it in Dec(31,8) as 1.875

Normally it becomes 1.87499999999
