Hi,
If an index or an indexspace falls into a pending status, we use the repair utility statements - Repair Set Index or Repair Set Indexspace.
What is the need of Repair Set Index while the Repair Set IndexSpace solves the problem?
Please clarify.
Regards,
Arjun. |

Hi Arjun,
Indexspace works for both Index and Indexspace. They might want to give more clarity bettween Indexspace and single index. Even I am not sure why there are 2. But I am just guessing that it can be.
I may be wrong. |

I don't see any syntax like "Repair Set IndexSpace" in DB2 V7 manuals. Could you give an example of what was the problem and what you command you executed?
thanks. |

Hi Noorkh,
Yes we understand that Set Indexspace works for both Index and Indexspace, but I am not able to justify that the two statements are just present for clarity sake.... hope somebody will clarify us on this..
Hi Wanderer,
Please check in the DB2 V8 Manuals... There is no problem.. I just need a clarification on the my first post.
Example:
Repair Set Index Creator.Indxname nocopypend;
Repair Set Indexspace DBname.Indxspname nocopypend;
Executing any one of the above statements will repair the pending status.
Hence Why has the IBM provided The new Set Indexspace statement in DB2 V8?
Are there any other features for the Set Indexspace?
Regards,
Arjun. |
