Hi,
I have an output file from a job whose copybook contains some FIXED BIN(15) attributes. When this file is viewed through File Manager utility with the corresponding copybook, the data in the file seems to shift 2-3 places depending on where ever the FIXED BIN attributes appears.(For eg: First character of a data which was supposed to be displayed under a field name, is getting displayed as the last character of previous field.) But when viewed normally, it appears to be correct . Can anyone explain the logic behind this? |

You mean 3.4 option. As you cannot read the binary data, how did you determine they are in correct position?

You need to introduce FILLER(s) in the copybook to match with the file. The same was noticed in my shop also. |

I compared it with another original file and the data were in correct positions. The file i obtained was a test file. I need the technical details of why its getting displayed with a shift when viewed through file manager(even the original ones shows this shift)... |
