Hi, I'm having a trouble with the jobs displayed in my spool since the user id that i use is made of a string of 4 characters and a number of two digits
(i.e.: AAAA30), and when i want to see my jobs i use pre aaaa30* and
owner * , but by doing this i also get to see all the jobs of the users that have 3 digits and the 2 first are equal to mines like aaaa301.
So i would be really grateful if someone can tell me of a way to filter the job by length so i can restrict the length to 7 characters.
Sorry if this was already post but i searched and didn't find anything.
thanks |

Isn't there an "Owner" thingy you could filter to? |

I can filter by the owner when i run a batch, cause the owner is my user, but when i stage or make a promotion the owner its uchgman for all users, the job id is the only way to filter |

Hello and welcome to the forums,
You might try "owner" of AAAA30 (without the asterisk).
If you could restrict the prefix match to 7 characters, would you not still get ones that you did not want to be included? |

Yes, but at least it would be only the jobs of their sessions and not all of them. |

Use your AAAA30 and pick a valid character for the seventh position that will not (normally) be used by others (special character?)... That leaves you 36+ additional identifiers to separate your jobs names..... |

Yeah, i did something like that by restricting to 9 the seventh position, cause when i promote or stage(owner uchgman) that's the number that appears. But the problem is that the i still get to see the jobs of the user aaaa309, and appears that he likes to preserve his jobs, so i have three pages of jobs and its very annoying. And also when i want to run a program i have to deactivate the filters and if i made a mistake i have to turn them on again to stage, etc.
That's why i wanted a way to restrict the length of the job id, that way i could see all my jobs, and only the jobs of sessions of other users(maximum of 10 if they are all connected). |
