why using LINES parameter in RUN program not in Compile program?

Hi
it seems ur running a COBOL program and in JCL u have provide the lines parameter. This parameter signifies the number of MAX lines in the sysout so that ur job will not abend "LINE abend" S722.


Please provide more info if i did not understood requirement.
