Hi...
I need to move a subprogram and the corresponding main program (both SR2) to production using a chgman package. Can i move them both using the same package? How do we ensure that the subprogram is compiled and bound before the main program.

Hello and welcome to the forums,
Your best source for that info is the people you work with. You should use the same method that everyone else uses. Others who work in the environment will know how to promote code and ensure all necessary work is completed before the attempt to promote. |

Hi Dick,
Thanks for your response.
Well, its that ours is a maintenance team and we never did something like this. We always do minor changes to the main programs and check them into production. Nobody in the team knows how to handle subprograms and that's why i have posted my query here.
Please suggest me a generic solution for this. We in the team were thinking of using two different packages for the sub and main programs and getting them installed one after the other. I would like to know if there is a more feasible solution to this. |
