hi all!
could any body give exact definition with suitable examples about USAGE clause
i.e, DISPLAY, COMP, COMP-1,COMP-2,COMP-3,......COMP-6.

Hi

Display is way the computer saves the COBOL variables

Display usage is default usage and INDEX is used for indexed arrays and COMP for storing numeric data.

What kind of engineer would not first use the resources at hand to answer questions and solve problems?
Enterprise COBOL Language Reference has a section giving "exact definition with suitable examples" for the USAGE clause.
