Hi,
I have a requirement to search for lines matching a pattern for ex
ABC*XYZ or ABC???XYZ where * stands for any number of characters in between and ? stands for single character. Is it possible using SUPERC?
I tried searching for a similar post but didn't found a resolution in the same.

Thanks in advance.

Ok I think the ? thing can be done using the SORT card
Code:
SORT   FIELDS=COPY
INCLUDE COND=((1,3,CH,EQ,C'ABC'),&,(7,3,CH,SQ,C'XYZ'))
RECORD TYPE=F,LENGTH=1200

but how to go about * wild card or using a regular expression.[/quote]

Hi Nimesh,

I don't think we can use wild cards in superc. To my knowledge, superc will help to find exact string that you are looking for.

let me know if you find any way of meeting your requirement.

There is no 'pattern' search in SUPERC, however you can try some combinations of SRCHFOR & SRCHFORC with 'S' (suffix) and 'P' (prefix).

Take a look at the fine manual.

O.
