Hi,
i am not getting the mainframe logon screen when i am connecting on port 23 using the telnet command in MS DOS.
it is directly going in to the line mode instead of translate mode.
how to change the llinemode into translate mode.in mainframe side. |

Try to use 3270 emulators.
Telnet supports only line commands |

Telnet is not 3270 and you can't make the Dos telnet connect to a mainframe session with TSO screens and such. It sounds like the AS400 is able to speak Telnet just fine. |

Hello,
Many of the telnet interfaces work with/support vt-100 emulation. To connect to the mainframe, the terminal connection almost always emulates a 3270 terminal.
I seem to recall places that telnet'ed to their as400 which then emulated 3270 for the connection to the mainframe. |
